Native to Guyana, Mexico, Honduras and Brazil. Named for the massive crimson pink puffy blooms in spring and summer. Forms rasberry-like buds which indicate the profusion of color to follow. The leaves fold up as the sun starts heading down. Can bloom year round if given southern sun.
